100,000 flights at Istanbul airport in a month

Istanbul Airport has launched the 100,000th flight since it was fully operational in April.
According to the data, the number of flights carried out from the “Istanbul airport” between the period of 6 April and the first of July, 201 this year, amounted to 100 thousand flights.
The achievement is a “new pride”, stressing that the airport’s goal is to become a magnet not only for Istanbul and Turkey but also for the region and the world at large as one of the world’s largest aviation projects, the Anatolia news agency reported.
The total number of passengers at the airport reached 5 million, 983 thousand and 488 during the period from 1 to 30 June, while the number of passengers in the internal and international lines of the airport 15 million, 988 thousand and 748 since the start of work full capacity on April 6.
The Istanbul airport was built on an area of 76.5 million square meters, with about 10,000 workers. The other phases of the airport are to be completed before 2023.
The airport will provide services to 250 airlines, and will land and take off 2,000 aircraft daily, and will organize daily flights to more than 350 destinations.
The airport building is built under a single roof covering 1.3 million square meters and is the largest building in the world and will have a free zone overlooking the Bosphorus.
